The Meaning of Beautiful

I made this in 8th grade when we were supposed to compose a 6-word memoir describing our middle school years. Before I did this, I use to think the definition of beauty was universal: no wrinkles, no flaws, no experience to show in your face. But if this is really true, then why do children rush to become adults? The aging process of humans is beautiful. None of it should be shunned. As I went on through school I saw my friends evolving as people around me, and it was scary at the time to see them change. But I know now that if they had not, none of us would be ready to deliver the maturity high school demands. I see now what truly defines people - the challenges they've overcome. And together, we've overcome this one and are all ready to take on the next. Like breaking out of a cocoon into sunlight, we can finally see our beauty for ourselves. Here is the image I used, it's not mine, but for this assignment we were allowed to use images from the internet as long as we gave credit.
